Extremely Disappointing Experience β Unacceptable for a 5-Star Hotel
We have been loyal patrons of this 5-star hotel for many years, which makes this experience all the more disappointing.
The lobster we ordered was quite frankly the worst we have ever had. The texture and flavour were nowhere near what lobster meat should beβcompletely lacking freshness, sweetness, or proper preparation. Paying a premium price for a dish that didnβt even remotely resemble properly cooked lobster is a disgrace for an establishment of this standard.
What was even more concerning was the response from the kitchen. The chef advised that βwe donβt sell and cook too many lobsters, so it may have been different.β This is not an excuseβit is unacceptable. If a restaurant does not know how to cook a dish properly, it simply should not be on the menu, especially in a 5-star hotel.
To make matters worse, the waiter attempted to smooth things over by saying βnext time you come, we will look after you.β This statement felt empty and misleading, as no details were taken, nothing was recorded, and there was clearly no intention or system in place to actually follow through on this promise.
For a venue we have trusted and visited for years, this entire experienceβfrom food quality to accountabilityβfell well below expectations. Sadly, it reflects a serious lapse in standards that management should urgently address.
